Move’n’Groove

What if you let your body speak to you through movement? Movement and rhythms are in our primal human nature and the easiest access to what’s alive within. Move ‘n’ Groove is my own dance ritual to invite the feminine, awaken the freedom, and bring presence to life through music and movement.

Get in comfortable clothes.

Find a space where you feel safe to move and show up as your whole self, preferably where you can be on your own and move freely.

Get wireless headphones or a speaker and connect it to your smart phone or gadget that contains music you love.

If you are a Spotify user, you could use this playlist. If not, make your own playlist of about 5 songs you love. Or just play this song on YouTube.

Stand in the middle of the space and bring your attention to your feet grounding you on the floor. If you wish, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and sink with your attention into your body. You can do this by taking your awareness from your thoughts and intentionally bringing it to a body part of your choice – for example – your heart, womb, gut, the tip of your nose…

As the music continues playing let your body speak to you. Let it lead a flow of movements as you follow the impulses of how it wants to move.

This dance is not about looking beautiful or “good”. It’s about the freedom to explore all the shapes, forms and sensations, stretches, contractions, moves and grooves that your body wants to experience.

After the playlist is done, or you feel you are complete, take a moment to breathe and check in what’s alive within.
