Visionboard

A practice to uncover clarity of what are you longing for, what do you wish to achieve, change or keep as you visualize your dream.  Every time, you feel a bit lost or times of change are sweeping upon you, a vision board can be a great self-reflection tool to offer direction, remind you what truly matters to you, and instill focus.

Once you’ve set this time for yourself prepare your space. Ideally, you can work on a big table or on the floor. Set the materials around, put your favorite music on , put your phone on silent and away from sight and you are ready to set off on your journey of visioning.

As the white canvas/open space is in front of you – ask: What is the future I want to create for myself? If you are too much in your head, or you feel you need to settle – do a short breathing exercise and ground yourself here and now. Feel free to repeat the question over and over like a mantra that will guide you to choose what’s to manifest in front of you.

Open the magazines, and Instead of searching for pictures on specific topics, choose images you are drawn to. You don’t have to know why. Enjoy cutting, lay them all out, and choose those that appeal to you. Go with your gut. A pattern may develop, now or later, and you can add to or change the pictures on your board as your vision becomes clearer.

Finally, choose the pictures that resonate with you and lay them out on your board.

If you wish, you could also want to add some affirmations or inspirational quotes or thoughts. Let your hands make, draw or write. There’s no limit.

Once you’re happy with the looks of it, stick the items to your board, or order them on the ground and take a picture with your phone.

Round off the session with some journaling based on what has manifested in front of you. You could just free write as you finish some of the following statements:

  • The future I create for myself is…
  • I feel excited to…
  • I notice what matters to me is…
  • In case I get lost my compass is…
  • The practices that will help me live this are…
  • The people I need to make this happen are…
  • To remember my visionboard I commit to…
